About Andrew Newton – a complete illustrated biography
Armed with a pilots licence and a map, Andrew Newton flew his own aircraft around east Africa, exploring Kenya & Tanzania – he tracked gorillas in the Ruwenzori mountains and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. He’s toured New Zealand 38 times and Australia 8 times. He performed for 3 months in Las Vegas and was offered a 3 year contract… but turned it down. He has a home in Cape Town and plays percussion in his local orchestra!

Andrew has appeared at the world-famous Leeds City Varieties more times than any other performer in its 156-year history. To date, he has performed 332 shows there, on the same stage as Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy (in 1932) Lillie Langtry, Marie Lloyd, Harry Lauder, Harry Houdini, Ken Dodd, Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Barbara Windsor, Sarah Millican and Michael McIntyre…
